Matthias Berninger

Matthias Berninger was born in Germany, where he became the youngest-ever elected Member of the Bundestag, serving for 13 years before joining Mars Europe in 2007. After facilitating global development of the Mars Health and Nutrition Strategy, he now leads teams on global trade and cocoa sustainability strategy for the corporation as Global Head of Public Policy for Mars, Incorporated.

Mindy S. Lubber

CEO and President of Ceres

​Mindy S. Lubber is the CEO and President and a founding board member of Ceres, a sustainability nonprofit organization working with the most influential investors and companies to build leadership and drive solutions throughout the economy. Under her leadership, Ceres has launched visionary and practical guides, including The Ceres Blueprint for Sustainable Investing and The Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability, for investors and companies to succeed in the 21st century global economy.

Jim Mahoney

Global Public Policy Executive, Bank of America

Jim Mahoney is the Global Public Policy executive for Bank of America. He leads international, national and local public policy engagement and is responsible for enhancing the company’s reputation through federal and state government relations, and issues management. Under Mahoney’s leadership he helped shape and deliver the company’s current 10-year, $125 billion environmental business natural resources through lower-carbon lending, investment and financing solutions.

The Honorable Gina M. McCarthy

Former EPA Administrator

A career public servant, Gina McCarthy has been a leading advocate for common sense strategies to protect public health and the environment for more than thirty years. She has worked in both Democratic and Republican administrations on environmental issues at the state and local levels and developed policies on economic growth, energy, transportation, and the environment. A native of Boston, she served as environmental adviser to five Massachusetts governors and from 2004 to 2009 as commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protections.

In her role as head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under President Barack Obama, she led efforts to address the challenge of climate change and ensure the protection of the country’s water resources. In 2015, she signed the Clean Power Plan, which set the first- ever national standards for reducing carbon emissions from existing power plants, underscoring the country’s commitment to domestic climate action and spurring international efforts that helped secure the Paris Climate Agreement.

Since leaving Washington, she has been a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government’s Institute of Politics and the Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is currently an operating advisor with Pegasus Capital Advisors, a private equity firm that invests in sustainability and wellness.
